Daw Me Me Kyaw joined GBS in 2005 as a salesperson. Five years on, she was promoted to the Section Head of Branding and Marketing and later, the Operation Head in 2013. Three years later, she transferred to GBS Microfinance where she was then appointed the role of Executive Director.
Today, Daw Me Me Kyaw celebrates her 15th year of working at GBS. Here’s what she has to say about her experience at GBS:
“It’s amazing to look back and realize that 15 years have already passed since I first joined GBS. Who would have thought it? At GBS, every day was a new chapter, a new opportunity to learn, to grow, to pass on my knowledge to others, and to make an impact of my own.
I remember back in 2011-2012, when I was in the Market Research team, I presented a proposal to the Management to build a school in Kyaung Shar Gone village in the Nyaungdon township of the Ayeyarwady Region. Not only was I floored when the Management accepted my proposal, but I was also honored and happy to have been able to witness it become a reality. To be able to give the children living in rural areas a chance to have an education… It’s life-changing, and in a good way. That was when I realized how much I value being a member of GBS. We don’t just work for the sake of working, but we work to help improve the lives of others in the community.
Of course, nothing is 100% smooth-sailing. In 15 years, I’ve also had to experience working life amid crises such as the Global Financial Crises in 2008, and more recently, the COVID-19 Pandemic. Uncertainty can be daunting at times, but it has also taught me resilience. During these times, I turn to the people in my environment and I feel glad for their steady presence and support.
GBS is not a workplace; it’s home. My colleagues and customers are not merely acquaintances or friends; they’re family.

“回首过去，发现距离自己加入GBS已经过去了15个年头，真是令人惊叹。谁能想到呢？在GBS，每一天都是新的篇章，都是学习、成长、向他人传授知识以及发挥自己影响力的新机会。
我记得2011至2012 年，当时我还在市场调研团队工作，我向管理层提交了一份在伊洛瓦底江地区Nyaungdon镇Kyaung Shar Gone村修建一所学校的提案。当管理层接受我的提议时，我不仅感到非常激动，而且还为能够见证它成为现实而感到荣幸和高兴。让生活在农村地区的孩子们有机会接受教育，这是能够改变人生的好事。从那时起，我才意识到作为 GBS的一员有多么重要。我们不只是为了工作而工作，而是为了帮助改善社区其他人的生活而工作。
当然，没有什么事情是百分之百一帆风顺的。在15年的时间里，我还经历了2008年全球金融危机和最近的新冠疫情等危机，不得不在这样的危机中工作和生活。不确定性有时令人生畏，但也让我学会了坚韧。在这些危机时刻，我向我周围的人求助，我为他们的坚持和支持感到欣慰。
GBS不是工作场所，而是我的家。我的同事和客户不仅是熟人或朋友，他们还是我的家人。””
“U Kyaw Soe于2010年加入GBS，担任销售员一职。2016 年，他成为公司股东之一。目前，他担任久保田好兄弟有限公司（KUBOTA GBS Co. Ltd.）和ASP KUBOTA的执行董事，主要负责这两家子公司的人力资源和财务管理。
今天，U Kyaw Soe将迎来他在GBS工作的第十个年头。以下是他对自己在GBS工作经历的感言：
“从一开始，GBS就发现了我的潜力。这要归功于我对发动机的热情和热爱–我可以轻松地记住整个发动机目录，甚至记得每台发动机制作过程。因此，工作一年后，我就有机会代表GBS参加海外交流项目和供应商会议。
尽管我还是公司的新人，但上司给予我的信任既让我感到惭愧，也让我感到无上光荣。虽然我犯了错误，但我的上司给了我支持和改正错误的机会。他们没有放弃我。他们看到了我的潜力，鼓励我勇于承担责任，努力解决问题。这也是我在向领导者角色发展的过程中努力实现的目标：给我的后辈们机会，让他们站出来证明自己的能力。
10年后，我可以坦率地说，我很荣幸能够加入GBS，成为其一员。我有幸共事的人，包括同事、经销商和代理商，对我来说就像家人一样。我们都被同一个目标、同一个梦想所激励，都希望看到我们当地的农民和缅甸的农业产业比今天走得更远。”
