After dealing solely with machinery for the better part of seven years, GBS decided to expand its range of products for distribution. Thus, VSK International Co., Ltd. was formed in 1998.
At first, the company explored only with what it knew best: agricultural products. From petrol engine grass cutters to sprayers, motors, pumps, generators, compressors, the company thrived on a steady clientele of hardworking farmers and agricultural industrialists.
In 2003, VSK International introduced clean water pumps by PinWheel, and has been a market leader in the clean water pump sector ever since.
By 2004, VSK International was ready to take on more, outside the field of agriculture, to grow the business. Two years after partnering with SANYO Air-con and Haier Freezer, VSK International was appointed by Midea in 2006 to be the sole distributor of their much-vaunted household appliances.
Fast forward to 2018, the company opened its very own TOTAL One Stop Tools Station, which as its name suggests, is a one-stop destination offering a wide array of hand tools, power tools, pumps, compressors, generators and motors. More recently, VSK International became the only official distributor for Toshiba in Myanmar, with two Toshiba showrooms in Yangon and Mandalay respectively.
Outside of product distribution, VSK International has also been commissioned to provide the HVAC system installation for a number of notable projects such as Myanmar’s first Metrology Lab, National TB Lab, Spring Line estate, Central Point Shopping Mall, Seaview Condo and Times City as well as several government facilities. VSK International has also donated generously to Htee Saung Eye Hospital as well as the deep-well pump project in Nyaung Hla village.
Today, one of the earliest GBS’s subsidiaries, and arguably, one of its most successful to date, VSK International has not only grown, but flourished. After two decades, the company is now a market leader in Myanmar’s consumer electronics as it operates from two main offices in Yangon and Mandalay, and from eight other showrooms across the country, distributing products to thousands of dealers nationwide.
